Lompoc Marlins seek city funds for coach under new co sponsorship
The Parks and Recreation Commission voted 5-0 to allow the Lompoc Marlins Swim Club to continue programs under a co sponsorship while city funds for a coach are reconsidered. The club would see free pool use but gate proceeds moved to the Marlins Parents Club. coach pay is about 915 to 1500 annually.

Lompoc Detox Center Set to Open July 1
Lompoc Valley to open a five bed alcohol detoxification center east of Lompoc on Sweeney Road July 1. County Board of Supervisors allocated 251 625 in revenue sharing funds for detox centers in Santa Maria Santa Barbara and Lompoc with Lompoc receiving 44 500 for a private contractor. Barnumd Lambert said Farmhouse Treatment Center operators Vi and Charles Willis bid for the contract and the board must approve the letting. The facility will have a physician and nurse on call and operates under state law requiring treatment of alcoholics outside detention facilities.

Daniel Mark Derita 24 of Vandenberg Air Force Base received five days in jail and a 720 dollar fine for driving while intoxicated. Judge Terrill F. Cox suspended his driving privileges for a car. Derita arrested on North H Street.

Commission denies free use of bus for festival
