The redesign lowers gross liftoff weight from 5.24 million to 4.101 million pounds and reduces orbiter dry weight to 150000 pounds. Operators expect one million dollars per launch in savings while payloads stay near 65000 pounds. The wingspan shrinks to 78 feet with a new double Delta wing and a 15 degree forward wing angle. The program keeps a 65000 pound eastward payload but return payload falls to 25000 pounds.
