Old Santa Ynez Day Celebrated With Parade and Festivities
Santa Ynez marks its 94th birthday with a non mechanized street parade featuring more than 100 entries along Sagunto Street. The day includes a barbecue, Indian dancing, music, firefighting demonstrations, and contests such as tobacco spitting and greased pig catching, with honorary marshals Mable Henderson and Ed die Pico.

Groundbreaking Set for Santa Ynez Valley High Campus Expansion
Groundbreaking for a $2,180,000 Santa Ynez Valley High School campus expansion is planned for 10 a.m. next Wednesday. B D Collins Construction submitted the low bid of $1,812,700 for the project, with FHA funding confirmed via a non negotiable bond. The plan includes a vocational building with ag and auto shops, a 250 seat auditorium, a new gym, and separate heating systems for the new facilities. The district also approved a 1976 77 general fund budget showing a deficit of 11,000 due to heating upgrades, and authorized plans to repair the boiler. An additional mathematics and social studies teacher was hired.

Lawyer declines Peron defense request in corruption case
In Buenos Aires the attorney Isabel Peron sought to defend her against government corruption charges declined the assignment for personal reasons. Judge Nino Tulio Garcia Moritan said Isidoro P.
