Santa Ynez group eyes Community Services District plan
A Santa Ynez Valley citizens group plans to file for a Santa Ynez Community Services District to provide sewer and other services. The plan proposes smaller boundaries than the current Santa Ynez Sanitation District. LAFCO postponed a hearing on the sanitation plan to July while awaiting a Johnson office report, and the committee led by Bill Nelson may withdraw the sanitation district application at the June 24 LAFCO meeting, clearing the way for a July LAFCO hearing on the new district. Ace Southergill notes the district would broaden powers and require a community election and a board of directors.
