Viet Cong Attack Hurts 75 Civilians in Da Nang Hamlet
Viet Cong guerrillas launched hazardous devices into bunkers in Phu Thanh 16 miles south of Da Nang killing 75 civilians and wounding 83 as they overran the hamlet. The attack followed mortar fire on a bridge. many victims were refugees or families of soldiers. At Angkor Wat, Viet Cong and North Vietnamese troops seized part of the ruins and confronted Siem Reap Airport.

Millionaire gun collector shot to death in Fresno

Amman Returns to Normal After Four Days of Fighting
In Amman four days of fighting between Jordanian troops and Palestinian guerrillas ended with a rapid return to normalcy. King Hussein sent cables to Egypt's Nasser and Libya's al Khadafy stating the situation was improving quickly. Reports say at least 500 were killed, including U S Army attache Maj. Robert P. Perry, with violence concentrated in Amman and casualties high across the city. Syria warned it would join the resistance if the fighting continued.
