Candlelight killings suspect captured after high speed chase
A suspect in Southern California's candlelight killings, a New York girlfriend, and a 17 year old Oklahoma City youth were arrested after a nine mile chase and gun fight in Colorado Springs. Detective Bernard Carter captured them freeing a motel owner’s wife hostage. The three jailed without bond on aggravated robbery kidnapping and assault to commit murder charges.

Three hurt in two car crash on Lompoc-Casmalia Rd
Three people sustained minor injuries in a two car collision on Lompoc Casmalia Road. Mrs Norsy L Howze 31 of College Ave was admitted to Vandenberg AFB Hospital with a neck injury. Maudia Henderson 31 of First Street was examined and released. Harry L Williams a Santa Maria civilian suffered bruises and declined treatment. The accident happened when Howze stopped to aid a stalled motorist, and Williams following in the same lane collided with Howze’s car spinning it into the roadway.
