Lompoc Unified OKs 76-77 Budget With Soccer Funds
Lompoc Unified School District trustees approved the 1976 77 budget after revisions allocating 455 salaries for varsity soccer coaches at Lompoc and Cabrillo high schools and 1366 for equipment per school. They endorsed early childhood education phasing in and created parent ECE committees, plus 17500 to improve high school dressing rooms and plans for a central kitchen to feed needy children in 1977.

Ambulance subsidy cut threatens Lompoc Valley service
Lompoc operator Ken Kelley warns the county Board of Supervisors plan to end the ambulance subsidy may leave the Santa Ynez Lompoc valleys without service. He currently runs two ambulances and would cut to one, raising rates and causing gaps of hours without coverage while transferring patients to Santa Maria Goleta or Santa Barbara. He estimates 160 monthly trips needed to cover a 5000 monthly operating cost without the subsidy.
