County Considers Off Road Site Expansion Across South Coast
The Board of Supervisors backed a policy showing county interest in locating off road vehicle sites. They ordered continued examination of a 50 acre Los Carneros Road site and a 108 acre Lompoc Valley site for possible development. County aims to provide public lands for off road use while weighing reports, costs, and public hearings. Concerns include an Indian burial ground under the Santa Barbara Airport track area and potential noise impacts near UC Santa Barbara housing.
