Bridge Luncheon Benefit Opens Local Fundraiser
A series of bridge luncheons raises funds for the Lompoc Chapter of the Santa Barbara County Republican Women’s Club. Rebekahs Report on State Assembly in Bakersfield
Lompoc Rebekahs heard delegates' reports from the California Rebekah Assembly in Bakersfield. Mines Harold Edman Wilbur Herrier LeRoy Scolari and Frank McCandless represented the lodge. A social visit by Mildred Holloway to Lompoc on June 15 and an official visit by the new Rebekah Assembly president on August 17 were announced. Susan Schroeder, daughter of the Schroeders, received a $100 Rebekah Lodge scholarship to Allan Hancock College. Unable to sponsor a child for the Odd Fellow Rebekah Youth Camp, Lompoc Rebekahs donated $36 to the camp finish fund.

Nine Cadettes Earns First Class Pins at Vandenberg AFB
The Girl Scouts presented first class pins to nine Cadettes at a court of honor in the Vandenberg AFB neighborhood. Six take obligations of Lompoc Grange ceremony
Six new members received the obligation of Lompoc Grange in a ceremony led by George Burroughs. Welcomees were Mr. and Mrs. Douglass Hoffman, Mrs. Maria Leache, Mrs. Gertrude Cabrial, George Kozumlik, and Stephen Schuyler. A family luau potluck dinner was planned for Thursday with flowered shirts and mumus as party wear. The Grange Sprouts and coaches will attend as special guests. Candlelight memorials honored eight departed members with services led by Mrs. Ronald Fairbanks and others. The Pomona master announced Nojoqui Falls Park barbecue in August with Lompoc Grange handling cooking. The next CWA meeting is Thursday, June 17, at Ryan Park. Meals and events for the Flower Festival and school band visits were also reported.
