Theft at Shopping Center Strikes Stereo Cartridges
Lom poc Police report fifteen stereo tape cartridges valued at 30 dollars stolen from the car of David Davia at 1105 W Prune Ave. The theft occurred while the vehicle was parked at the Lompoc Shopping Center.

Collision on Maple Avenue injures none
Jay Brimmer age 25 from Vandenberg AFB and John Lemon age 28 from 233 Orion Ave Vandenberg Village escaped injury after a collision at Maple Avenue and N Street. Brimmer traveled west on Maple and Lemon north on N Street. Vehicles sustained major to moderate damage per Lompoc Police Department.

Small county fires cause no damage
Fire units extinguished a river bottom blaze at the east end of North Avenue and a separate grass fire in Mission Hills. The grass blaze burned a 30 by 40 foot patch near Burton Mesa and Calle Quarta with no damage reported.

Obituaries for Howard Stewart
Howard Stewart 52 died yesterday at Vandenberg AFB Hospital. Services are pending at Mc Peek Family Mortuary. He worked for Santa Barbara County and lived at 1308 W Airport. Born February 11 1917 he is survived by his widow Glenna and a son Carl Ragsdale both of Lompoc, plus nine grandchildren.
