County supervisors aides get big pay raises in 1974

Aides to five county supervisors receive pay hikes averaging over 5 percent for fiscal 1974 effective July. Top range for assistants hits 14,712 dollars yearly, while supervisors themselves earn 13,482 dollars. Larry Lavagnino, aide to Curtis Tunnell, is poised for the highest monthly level of 1,226 dollars based on recent boosts. Flower Festival Queen events spark crowds in Lompoc area

Man Charged in Embezzlement at Alisal Ranch

David Ross Reed, 25, was arraigned in Solvang Justice Court on embezzlement charges after deputies arrested him at his Buellton home. He allegedly stole more than $7,000 from Alisal Guest Ranch deposits over a month, with bail set at $11,500. Investigators probe potential additional losses. Alisal is near Solvang.
