Lompoc Ruthers Clinch Northern California Babe Ruth Title

Leroy Grossini powered Lompoc with a single and a double driving in two runs while Owen Etheridge earned his fourth All-Star win as the 14-15 year old Ruthers clinched the Northern California championship in a 4-3 two game sweep over Fremont. The squad advances to Salt Lake City for the western regional tournament and then the World Series in New Hampshire.

Lompoc Little League Falls Short to Orcutt All-Stars

Williams wins 10000m in Russia for US junior team

Lompoc athlete Terry Williams won the 10000 meter race in Odessa Russia with a 29 55 8 clocking to help the United States AAU Junior Track and Field Team defeat the Soviet Union junior squad 194 182. Fellow American Robbie Perkins finished second in 29 56 0 as Sintsov of Russia placed third. Williams and Perkins also competed in 5000 meter events in Europe this month, with Williams set to return to Lompoc after the European trip.
