Linda Pedersen to reign over Danish Days events
Linda Pedersen, 19, will serve as Maid of the 1976 Solvang Danish Days. She will be introduced at the kickoff breakfast Saturday at 8 a.m. in Solvang Park, with co chairmen Paul Hanberg and Kendall Mills presiding. Linda, a Cal Lutheran College student, will wear a Danish national costume and appears at multiple public events during the festival weekend September 18–19. Her Danish heritage, school honors, and family ties to Solvang are noted along with the planned entertainment and traditional Danish breakfast by Arne Hansen.

Hearing date set on General Plan change for Santa Ynez bikeways
The County Planning Commission scheduled a public hearing for Sept 22 to consider a General Plan amendment creating bikeways in the Santa Ynez Valley. About 1,900 mailings were sent to nearby property owners. A resident group on Glengarry Rd objects to a Class 2 on road route through the road. An alternative route could be considered if protests prevail.
