Japanese youth to visit Lompoc for UC Extension exchange
Four Lompoc families will host Japanese youths under a Labor-H exchange sponsored by UC Agricultural Extension Service. Delegates fly to Portland then to California for campus activities at Davis and housing with local families, with a three week stay to integrate into American family life.

In July themed Outer Space the Pack 103 Cub Scouts and Webelos built rockets for a derby at Ryon Park. Hank Korczak Warren Arnold and Hugh Dalfrey led races won by Mrs Ellen Atwood's Dent with Scott Hecker receiving a scout swivel light.
