Inflation Raises County Share in USGS Water Agreement

The county increases its annual cooperative payment to 2725,425 for USGS water well measurement and related projects on the Santa Ynez River, bringing total program cost to 57,425 with additional contributions from the USGS and Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District.

Oldest Solvang structure cleared for Danish shops complex

Solvang’s 1912 Dania Hall creamery site on Copenhagen Drive is torn down to make way for a Danish styled four shop complex. Jacob Svendsen, a key early founder, recalls building the early structures and the town’s first laundry opening in 1928. The site later housed the Solvang Clinic Shops and Christina’s Tree House.
