Doll Collector Evelyn Cameron Opens a World of Collectible Dolls
Evelyn Cameron, wife of optometrist Donald Cameron, preserves about 150 dolls from Germany, Japan, England, France and the United States. Her collection spans miniature to 25 inch figures made of bisque wax and other materials, with rare items like a 25 inch Steiner doll from 1880. She repairs outfits with help from friends, names her dolls, and notes that character dolls from Holland and Ozarks are especially valued. The collection grows as she hunts antiques at bazaars and Goodwill.
