Drought Impacts Lompoc Area Largely Limited

Lompoc Valley largely escaped serious effects of a severe California drought while Marin County and Amador County faced rationing. The drought stems from a dry winter with January rainfall at zero in some locales and February wetter than average at Vandenberg. Local agriculture and cattle sectors report mixed impact, with irrigation costs rising and feed limited but overall water supplies still adequate.
