Ben Miller of Los Altos unveils Synthesis II an eight by five foot stitchery hailed as the largest solid stitchery in the United States. The work opens soon at John St John Old Mill Gallery Solvang for ten days with two and a half years of labor. Miller describes the prime embroidery technique and varied stitches used plus pockets raised areas and dyed yarns including wool silk and synthetics.

VA Goleta outpatient clinic moves toward reality
A $1.5 million VA outpatient clinic in Goleta Valley nears realization to serve area veterans now traveling to out-of-county facilities. Bid ads hoped by August, with a 28 000 square foot building to be built on county land at the County General Hospital campus by a private contractor. Open by late 1978 if schedules hold, pending water-use arrangements with Goleta County Water District which has banned new connections amid water scarcity.

Demo League to Host Central Committee Dinner Meeting
