Four Die In Weekend Traffic Tragedy Across Counties
Weekend crashes killed four people and left ten others injured across multiple locations. Kathleen Lowe 24 of Van Nuys died after a motorcycle collision on Highway 1 near Jalama Road with Thomas Lowe injured. Chris Sprague 19 of Goleta died in a motorcycle collision in Goleta. Thomas Chester Lowe 24, a television writer, died when his car hit a parked vehicle on Highway 101 near Los Alamos. Denise Weisberg 21 and John Platis 34, both of Venice, were injured. Jerry Don Clemens 21 of Vandenberg Air Force Base died from injuries after a rollover on Santa Rosa Road near Buellton. Terry Plank 21 and Leonard Langworthy 19, both at Vandenberg AFB, were injured. Burton Wilder 50 of Santa Barbara suffered facial injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 246 at Domingos Road. Dan Degan 16 was hospitalized after a crash at Chestnut Avenue and Sixth Street.
