Camping program aided through gift equipment
Members of two Vandenberg Village Discovery Clubs donate camping gear to the Lompoc Camp Fire Girls. A camp stove and lantern are added for group use, with the store funded by trading stamps and leaders named. Donna M Wood is named executive director of the Lompoc Council of Camp Fire Girls effective July 16 1973. She has lived in Lompoc 12 years with husband Bradley and children Barbie Jeff Teresa and Pam. The council serves Lompoc Santa Ynez Valleys with about 950 members and is a United Fund agency.

Bahamas Cruise Delights Long Family Vacation
The James P Longs of 186 Oakmont enjoyed a Bahamas bound cruise arranged by Lompoc Travel Center. A pre trip bon voyage party featured Ralph Tracy and others. They flew 747 from Los Angeles to Miami and toured the city before the voyage. The voyage included Nassau Puerto Rico St Thomas with shopping and jewelry. Upon return they were met by daughter Carol Jepsen and her husband George at the airport.

WWI Auxiliary sews for veterans
The World War I Ladies Auxiliary held a July 4 potluck luncheon with patriotic table decorations. Edna Mae Bishop and Ruth Andersen led planning to buy material for scuffies to donate to veterans hospitals in Palo Alto and Fresno. Mrs. Dwelle Truesdale offered yarn for lap robes and the seventh district meeting was announced for July 17 in Santa Barbara.
