Fireworks Fund In Lompoc Near Shortfall For Fourth

Fire officials report the drive to raise 2500 for the Lompoc High School Fourth of July show at Huyck Stadium is $2000 short with three days left. Fire Chief John Baker notes $500 raised, donations urged at local counters or by mail to the South G Street fire station. Proceeds fund fireworks purchased by volunteer firefighters who have staged the event since 1963.

Chamber elects four directors and sets proxy for tomorrow

The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce elected four directors this morning after counting general member ballots. Incumbents Fran Underwood and John Martin were re elected for three year terms with new directors John Lizzaraga and Al Walker. Retiring directors are Harry Crompe and George Cotsenmeyer. Officers to be chosen in a board meeting tomorrow at 8 30 a m with 12 elected and six appointed members. Installation date to be announced.

Second legal action may stall Macco Corp. plans

A second legal action aimed at halting Macco Corp. of Newport Beach from mass development at Hollister Ranch west of Gaviota was filed in Superior Court by Dr. Clinton Hollister as trustee.
