Sonic boom raids new war tactic across Syria and Cairo
Israel said warplanes rocked five Syrian cities including Damascus with sonic booms in retaliation for a Syrian MIG attack on Haifa. Israeli jets also hit Suez Canal positions as Egyptian fighters intercepted the raid and all planes returned safely. Syria had breached Israeli air space the prior day, the first since 1967.
