Visiting nurse Dr Joyce Lakey to speak at Quota Club luncheon

Dr Joyce Lakey director of Visiting Nurses will address the Quota Club luncheon at the Lompoc Walkley Club. The Visiting Nurse Association is a United Fund member agency and serves home bound patients. A February membership luncheon is planned with Mrs C R Pritchard as chairman presenting eight candidates. Mrs Joseph Ames, cookbook chairman, asks members to report progress in the current sale. Quota Club meets twice monthly with President Mrs Helen Smith.

LERA Women State Game Night and Club Meeting

The Lockheed Employees Recreation Association Women’s Club hosts a game night on Wednesday January 28 at 8:00 p.m. at Mrs Len Culver’s home. Prizes are donations from members and refreshments are provided. Final plans were set at a recent board meeting at Mrs Eugene Smith’s home.

Hancock offers spring course in management

Allan Hancock College offers a spring semester course in personal and family management taught by Dorothy Enfield. Ray Mills invites all community members to enroll, noting the program helps with budgets time and household affairs. Class meets 3 to 4 pm Mondays and Wednesdays in Room 109 Applied Arts Building. Enrolling by January 30 at the admissions office costs $4 for the two unit course.

Results from duplicate bridge tours in the Lompoc and Vandenberg area dated Jan 15 to Jan 20 list top pairs in North-South and East-West across multiple sessions. Grange Women Plan April Enchilada Sale

The Grange Women's Committee of Activities will hold an enchilada sale on Saturday April 4 in Lompoc. Originated by Mrs Kenneth Fairbanks in 1948 the sale has run for 22 years and will offer pick up and delivery through Grange Hall contacts 6 7449 or committee members.
