Big rush on forag preserve status in Santa Barbara County
The Santa Barbara County Planning Commission approved 24 more agricultural preserves totaling over 7 000 acres adding to 2 000 acres recommended last week as tax credits. About 450 000 acres are expected under preserve status by March under the 1968 Land Conservation Act with two more hurdles before the lien date including Board of Supervisors approval and recordation.
