Carter orders full pardon for Vietnam era evaders

President Carter unconditionally pardons draft evaders from Aug 4 1964 to Mar 28 1973 and orders a Pentagon study on deserters. The move covers thousands with two limited exceptions and allows evaders who gained citizenship to pursue renewal of status.

Carter hosts first White House reception for campaign friends

Lompoc approves 398000 FAA funds for valley road work

Lompoc City Council adopted a program to spend 398000 in Federal Highway Act funds on the Lompoc Valley road projects through September 30 1978. The plan covers State Route 1 widening O Street and V Street reconstruction and aligns with FAA aided improvements and local state share.
