Lompoc Students Brave Cold to Watch Inaugural Parade

Lompoc and Fillmore School students braved freezing weather to view the inaugural parade along Pennsylvania Avenue then toured the nation’s capital with 31 students and 11 chaperones. They planned visits to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial and a reception for President elect Jimmy Carter and Vice President elect Walter Mondale. The group, aided by local supporters, spoke with reporters from Rep. Lagomarsino’s office and expressed excitement over sights, snow, and meeting officials.
