The Lompoc City Council unanimously approved full pavement curb gutter and sidewalk work on Cypress Avenue between Fourth and Seventh streets despite residents Lucy Rudolph and Salvador Martinez alleging discrimination against blocks with lesser improvements. The council cited a bid 20 percent under estimates and rising material costs as justification and also approved Pine Avenue work and a study to buy silver for Centennial Medallions.
