Murphy in good health ready for Senate bid

Sen. George Murphy, 67, told reporters at a La Jolla clinic he is physiologically a 45-year-old man after five days of tests. He heads to a $100-a-plate San Francisco dinner with Bob Hope as MC and Rogers Morton speaking as GOP chairman. He plans to run on his record against a potential Dem challenge from John Tunney, S. I. Hayakawa, and George Brown Jr. The race centers on Vietnam, inflation, conservation, and Navy pollution in the San Francisco Bay area.

Five Montana youths presumed lost on Mt Cleveland attempt

The UPI report says the search for Clare Pogreba 22 and Ray Martin 22 both of Butte Jerry Kanzler 18 Bozeman Mark Levitan 20 Helena and James Anderson 18 Bigfork was abandoned after six days of ground and boat effort. Hearing set on preserve request in Lompoc Valley

The County Planning Commission schedules a public hearing on January 14 at 1 45 p.m. in the County Engineering Building Santa Barbara to consider Lompoc Oil Developing Co clearances for a 541 acre agricultural preserve and six additional preserves in Lompoc Valley and Santa Ynez Valley. Final rites held for Yablonskis Friday

In Clarksville Pennsylvania a requiem mass for David Yablonski and his wife and daughter was held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception with miners and mourners present. The Yablonskis were slain in their home in Washington and buried in a snow covered cemetery.
