Lompoc High girls vie for American Field Service trip abroad

Laura Croas and Patty Jacobs, students at Lompoc High School, were nominated for overseas study under the American Field Service after submitting applications. Selection hinges on further eliminations in April, with about 4000 chosen from 14,000 nationwide. The AFL International committee in New York will pair selected students with host families for year long or ten week programs, including northern and southern hemisphere school options. The local AFL also plans its March rummage sale.

Work education helps Lompoc students gain high school credit

Lompoc High and Cabrillo offer a work education program where students can work in fields of their choice and earn high school credits. Participants must meet grade and conduct standards, complete forms with parent and employer signatures, and maintain weekly activity terms via the work education advisor.

Key clubs to battle on gridiron tomorrow

Cabrillo Key Club hosts Lompoc Key Club in a flag football match tomorrow at 1 p.m. on Cabrillo upper field, using high school rules. expected duration about two hours with each half an hour.
