Tanglewood survey to gauge resident views on industrial intrusion
A house to house survey in the Tanglewood area near Santa Maria will canvass more than 300 homes next week to measure support or opposition to California Fine Wire Co relocating to a site near the planned shopping center. The effort, neutral in tone, was authorized by the Board of Supervisors after homeowners urged scrutiny of the project.

Bikeways Win Round in Goleta Valley Road Plan
Third District Supervisor Daniel G. Grant says Cathedral Oaks Road extension in Goleta Valley will include a striped bikeway with 8 and 9 foot lanes along a 2.2 mile stretch from La Patera La to Alameda Ave. Construction aims to start before July 1 and traffic by Sept. 1. Dos Pueblos High students Doug Blois Lee Chaney and Gary Baker helped push the proposal. The bikeway could also apply to the existing road.
