North Vietnamese forces captured the Muong Suoi air field and nearby town, about 30 miles west of the Plain of Jars, as Royal Lao troops withdrew under heavy bombardment. Manuel Arthur Casarez an 18 year old of 217 S N St Lompoc was charged with possession of marijuana when deputies added a heroin sale count. He was to appear in Lompoc Justice Court. Ronald Raymond Riola 21 of Santa Maria was arrested on heroin and dangerous drugs charges at 1667 Calle Nueve Mission Hills with bail set at 10000.

Jaycees Plan Council Forum in Lompoc

The Lompoc Jaycees announced a public forum for all eight Lompoc City Council candidates on Wednesday March 4 at 7 30 p m in the Lompoc Senior High School Little Theatre. A question and answer session with the press will precede the April 14 election, and admission is free.

Police Lt. injured in jail fight in Lompoc

Lompoc police say Lt. Ernest Bouslaugh broke an ankle in a scuffle during the booking of Ronald James Hall 24 of 405 B N L St on charges including failure to pay a drunk driving fine. Patrolman Keith Bobb assisted as Hall was restrained. A follow up action against Hall was not stated.

Relief policy may be altered by county supervisors

County Administrative Officer Ray mond D Johnson recommends amending the general relief policy to limit funds to non employable persons. The Board may act on March Johnson based his plan on Welfare Director Arthur Nelsons warning that without action the relief fund could deplete before June 30, triggering a fund transfer.
