Lt Ross leads reentry tests at Vandenberg AFB

Lt Albert Ross, a project officer in the 6595th Aerospace Test Wing, manages the reentry measurements program at Vandenberg AFB. He chairs the Flight Test Working Group coordinating the Army Nike target program with contractors and vendors to ensure readiness of the reentry vehicle and its Atlas booster before launch.

Red Cross aids flood victims in Lompoc area

The American Red Cross provides food, clothing, shelter and repairs for Santa Ynez flood families. National disaster representative Mary Lou Taylor and Demetrio Griego from Albuquerque assist 13 local families, with total area costs estimated around eight thousand dollars for Lompoc and forty thousand dollars regionally.

Jr high band to play for board at Tuesday meet

Lompoc Junior High School concert Orchestra will play Tuesday as the opener of the school board meeting in the auditorium on L Street. The unusual concert starts at 3 30 p.m. and pushes the regular session to about 4 p.m. Trustees will review construction reports on the district central administration building El Camino Additions facilities at Fillmore School and Martha Negus Orthopedic Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Barbara Spies Arrested for DUI at Vandenberg AFB

Barbara Spies, 34, of 1003 Mockernut Ave Vandenberg Air Force Base was arrested for drunk driving and booked in Lompoc jail by the California Highway Patrol. Bail was set at 720 dollars and authorities noted a prior DUI conviction.

Richard F Rudolph longtime Lompoc resident and Johns Manville foreman died at his home 207 S N St. He was born November 9 1909 in Lompoc and was 59. He worked 35 years for Johns Manville and belonged to the Johns Manville Club and Quarter Century Club.
