Lompoc drainage panel backs backbone storm sewer plan

The drainage committee approved a backbone storm drain system aimed at ending chronic flood problems in central and southeast Lompoc. Estimated cost 482000 dollars plus about 12 percent for engineering, with funding from flood control funds, gas tax, or SB 325 sources. The plan trims street damage by rerouting a line from a proposed D Street path and would channel water to the east west drainage canal and Santa Ynez River.
