Baby found in jet trash container on Trans World flight

Richard Suzuki, an aircraft cleaner, found a newborn baby boy in a washroom trash container on a TWA jet during a refueling stop in Honolulu. The mother, Thai traveler Vanna Scrcomatsii, allegedly gave birth midflight from Los Angeles to Bangkok. She was hospitalized in Guam. airline and police await further action while the plane continued to Asia.

Doctor Keeps Sense of Humor in Small Washington Town

In Darrington Washington a town of 1070 relies on 80 year old blind physician Norwood Clayton Riddle who jokes he has not died yet and cannot retire Residents searched two years for a new doctor but no one responded and the nearest hospital lies about 30 miles away Riddle arrived from Niagara Falls New York in 1929 and became blind a decade ago.

Abandoned boy identified after father reports missing wife

In Los Angeles a four year old boy found abandoned in a downtown park with a note seeking rabies shots was identified when his father Robert Kerr 28 filed a missing persons report. Kerr said his wife Donna 27 was missing and had recently given birth but put the infant up for adoption. Bobby Kerr was taken to USC County Medical Center in good condition with two scratches on his cheek and no antirabies injections planned.

Lightning Strike Hits Seattle Car Described by Eye Witness

Mrs. Lynn Boyce, a 21 year old Seattle housewife, reported feeling as if in an airplane when a lightning bolt struck her car early Monday. She said the car lifted from the pavement, some electrical systems failed, and the engine continued running as she escaped, smoking three cigarettes after stopping about a mile away.

Air Force Colonel Convicted in Marijuana Abuse Case

Air Force Col. Gerald V. Kehrli was found guilty on marijuana abuse charges by a general court martial in Saigon. He received a three year prison term and a $15,000 fine but keeps rank pay and pension benefits. Kehrli, 46, of Willmar Minnesota, faced seven or eight charges and could have earned up to 40 years in prison plus dismissal.
