Supermarket prices to take big jump in 1973

The Agriculture Department forecasts 1973 supermarket prices will average 6 to 6.5 percent above 1972, the largest one year rise in 22 years. Beef and pork surges drive much of the gain though price growth may ease as meat supplies rise.
