New disclosure bill touted as stronger in California
Sacramento assembly Speaker Robert Monagan promotes a disclosure bill he calls stronger and better than Jess Unruh's 1969 law. The rival plans differ on required disclosure thresholds with Monagan at 5 000 dollars and only listing holdings, while Unruh demands full listing of all holdings over 10 000 dollars. Unruh and Chap pie oppose the fast tracked passage, arguing the bills affect candidates statewide and city council races.
