Youth Chess in Lompoc Valley Hosts Early 8 Week Tournament
Lompoc Valley Chess Club announces an eight week all member championship beginning Feb 16 at the Community Building with four two week rounds. Entry fees are 3 for adults and 1 for juniors. Bob Wineinger directs the event. Santa Barbara County High School Chess League head Bob Korte competes. Cabrillo and Lompoc High Schools lead regional standings as junior programs race to top.
