The Allan Hancock College production of Pied Piper of Hamlin offers moral lessons through enacting action and humor. Director Stuart Sutton presents characters like Mayor Dekker and a scheming councillor to show the consequences of selfishness and the value of honesty and kindness. The show runs with multiple performances this week and joins Cinderella and Once Upon a Mattress as part of Hancock’s children's theater season.

Susan Rodriguez Job Corps Recruiter for northern Santa Barbara county will be at the Rural Manpower Services office 102 W Ocean Ave Lompoc Friday from 10 am to 2 pm. All youths ages 16 to 21 not employed due to lack of skills should contact RMS for an appointment. Centers in the western states offer openings with typical training of about twelve months in fields such as auto mechanics electronics welding carpentry painting masonry and more.

Lompoc Valley Art Association Plans February Meeting

The Lompoc Valley Art Association sets February meeting in Lompoc Library at 7 30 p m with Jane Todd demonstrating Scratch Board and Rex Brant Water Colors. The group promotes fine arts and civic projects including the Flower Festival and scholarships. Signatures Near Threshold in Insignis Referendum Drive

County Election Bureau reports 5854 of 6976 petition signatures validated for the Insignis residential recreational project case. Office head Myrtle Heltman says the total 8575 needed could be reached by Friday, enabling a sufficiency report to the Board of Supervisors next Monday. The petitions seek to void a rezoning ordinance allowing five acre agricultural land near Duff Ranch to be carved into cluster residential use.
