Pismo Beach Prep for 25th Annual Clam Festival Weekend
Pismo Beach gears up for thousands of visitors at the 25th Clam Festival Friday through Sunday. Forecast calls for clear warm weather and low tides aiding clamming. TV actor Don Galloway will crown the festival queen and serve as parade Grand Marshal with over 100 entries. The event features an art show, races, contests, food booths, dances, and a kids’ carnival. Clam regulations require four and a half inch clams. licenses available locally.

County Eyes 10 Cent Tax for 1971 72 Capital Outlay

Interest earnings rise for county funds in fiscal year

County board approves park improvements and labor council project
The Board of Supervisors approved the appointment of William F. Luton and Fred Pratt to the County Delinquency Prevention Commission and released Andrew McDonough and Joe Arca from the commission. An agreement with Santa Maria Central Labor Council to improve Waller County Park was approved and funded by the labor council. A resolution of thanks will be sent to the council. The board set hearings for Feb 16 on 36 agricultural preserves and called for bids on 350000 in Santa Barbara Junior College District bonds for road and signal work at East Valley and San Ysidro roads with county share 17000. They also discussed Isla Vista traffic, Methadone program backing, and fire taxation changes in Lompoc.
