UPW to honor past presidents at church potluck

United Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church plan a noon potluck in Westmont Hall this Thursday with Circle 1 hosting led by Mrs. Glenn Bohn. Mrs. Kenneth Wicks will present Presbyterial highlights, Rev. David Chamberlain of Valley Chapel will speak on Youth and Drug Abuse Problems, and vocal solos by Mrs. Ronald Saladino with pianist Mrs. Charles McElmurry.

AAUW to hear expert on California water projects

Youth Artists Festival Draws Standing Room Audience

Music students from Lompoc and surrounding areas performed at a Youth Artists Festival hosted by Santa Maria Stake. Performers included Sidney Richard on piano, Mrs. Ray McCuen on flute, a clarinet duet by Collette DeMill, and dramatic readings by Miss Janet Hansen and Mary Ellertson, among others. The highlight was the Lompoc II Ward youth choir of 25, directed by Arlene Harris, singing Tender Love and Pilgrims Chorus.

Indian Chief speaks at Chi Phi meeting on artifacts and travel

Sioux chief and Sitting Bull descendant Robert Baray spoke to Chi Phi Chapter Beta Sigma Phi. He displayed Indian arrowheads and bowls from Lompoc area, noted 106 artifact sites on Vandenberg AFB, and gave a brief tribe history. Travel films from Lompoc Library were shown. next meeting set for Feb 11 at Mrs. Rixmann’s home.
