Police clear 10 burglaries and arson at Lompoc High
Lompoc Police say they cleared 10 burglaries and an arson at Lompoc High School tied to a 12 juvenile suspects, including a 12 year old girl. A grand theft firearm and loot valued around 3000 were recovered as 12 youths, ages 12 to 17, were detained after an 18 hour daily probe begun December 16. The investigation continues.

FCI officer injured in tree fall during contraband search
A 25 year old correctional officer, David Ogilvie, fractured his neck after falling from a tree at the Federal Correctional Institution minimum security camp while searching for contraband. He is listed in satisfactory condition at Goleta Valley Hospital. FBI has taken over the investigation. Ogilvie began at the FCI in 1972. He is described by Warden Frank Kenton as a good officer.
