Vern Clevinger and Bill Dougherty, both 16, spent 12 days in blizzards on Mt Shasta in California. They ran out of rations after Dec 18 and were found by a logging foreman. They received treatment in McCloud after a whiteout caused a wrong turn near Mud Creek.
