The Dec 15 ceremony for Gita Patel of Lompoch and Dilip Patel of San Francisco featured Rev. John Eby of First Baptist as officiant. Guests learned Gujarati customs, attire, and lavish gifts amid a costly Indian wedding with a $7 plate dinner for 450 and a feast of Indian delicacies.
The Patel nuptials unite Gita daughter of Thakorbhai and Induben Patel of 528 North H Street with Dilip son of Naranbhai and Laxmiben Patel of San Francisco in two ceremonies on December 15 at the Veterans Memorial Building. The Hindu rite officiated by Joshi Bhupendra T. included a tilak, fire ceremony, scarves, and seven circumambulations. a civil service followed with Rev. John Eby. About 450 guests attended. dinners were prepared by Bhakta Samsge women from Los Angeles and served by male relatives. The couple will reside in San Francisco with the groom’s family in the motel business.
