Christmas weekend traffic deaths total 388 in the U.S.
United Press International reports 388 people died in traffic accidents over the Christmas weekend. California led with 36 deaths, Texas 34, Missouri 21, Florida and Georgia 20 each. no fatalities in Alaska, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Vermont. A triple fatality in Georgia involved truck driver charged with three counts of vehicular homicide. Mary Brooks and her two sons died in the I-95 crash near Savannah.
