County to hold talks on Social Security plan with employees
The Board of Supervisors asked Administrative Officer Raymond D. Johnson to report by December 27 on talks with employee organizations over a county Social Security program. The county may seek to extend the one year development period for an alternative plan via the Independent County Employees Association and others. Johnson noted Washington proposals may raise the county and employee contributions from 1.5 million to about 1.8 million or more and said cancellation of the withdrawal notice does not prevent reinitiating termination later.
