Prisons Locked Down After San Quentin Race Violence

Robbers free hostages in Minnesota market standoff
Four gunmen held 30 to 35 people at gunpoint in the Country Club Supermarket in Richfield for about five hours before surrendering to police at 1 15 a m. Gov. Wendell Anderson spoke with the suspects by phone and a doctor treated a wounded assailant after a hostage was rescued. Police said the men demanded a car and a helicopter, but the situation ended without further bloodshed as all four were arraigned today.
