The five member council approved a 490000 backbone storm drain line project with cost estimates around 760000. Funding covers 41000 state, 490000 revenue sharing budget, 49000 flood control, 55000 street improvements and 300000 state gas tax funds. The plan expects possible 100000 shortfalls from gas tax and revenue sharing.
Gov Reagan ordered state offices remain open during regular hours on December 24 and 31 despite a union request to shut down for the energy crisis. Press secretary Clyde Walthall said directors should urge staff to use vacation or compensatory time off on those days to prevent inconvenience.

He says departure is amicable and will stay to assist in State of the Union and budget prep before leaving. He notes House impeachment vote Should occur by March 15 at latest.
