Ken Stabler, Oakland Raiders quarterback, led the league in touchdown passes and helped his team to a 12 2 record and division title. He won UPIs American Conference Player of the Year on 16 of 39 ballots, with Cincinnati’s Ken Anderson second and Otis Armstrong third.

Barthel Named Northern League MVP For 1974

Earl Anthony to challenge $100,000 season mark at Rancho Bowl

LeRoy Grossini, Lompoc High defensive back, suffers a knee injury yet is hailed as Brave of the Week for a 56 yard punt return setup and two interceptions against Colton Yellowjackets. He previously starred with 71 yard punt return vs Cabrillo and 57 yard return vs Burbank, plus five playoff picks. Teammates honored include Chuck Van Allen, Joe Miliate and Larry Tatum.
