Record's fifth annual scholastic Christmas chess tourney set
The Record hosts its fifth annual scholastic Christmas chess tournament this Saturday at Veterans Memorial Building on H Street and Locust Avenue. Burglary hits school and shops. minor losses reported
Burglars broke into Ha School at 324 South A Street, Modern Barbershop at 127 South H Street, and Winchells Donut Shop at 400 North H Street over the weekend. Losses were small: a door damaged at the school, vending machine damage, 60 cents stolen from the barbershop, a door damaged at the bar, and 97 one dollar bills taken from a Bank of America deposit bag at the donut shop. A City of Lompoc truck and a car collision at A Street and Lemon Avenue caused no injuries. An electric outage at 406 C North I Street was investigated but the meter showed no fault. Robert Vernon Velez, 45, of Vandenberg AFB faced DUI charges after a crash with Ann Marie Lindsey, 42, of Venus Avenue, also at VAFB. bail set at 375 dollars. Cabrillo Booster Club meets December 18 at 7:30 in the high school music room. Allan Hancock College offers a six week Real Estate Sales License Preparation course beginning February 13 at South Campus Room 6. $2 fee.

The Lompoc Senior High music department presents its annual Christmas concert tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the school gym. Under Jerry Weakley the orchestra and symphonic winds perform Fum Fum Fum Nutcracker Suite and four traditional carols.
