Council to vote on grant fund tomorrow
The City Council will vote tomorrow night on spending about 368000 in block grant funds. Staff recommends 309000 to finish reconstruction of the fire station if Public Works Act funds are not received, with prior commitments guiding four year spending priorities. West Side Home Fire Causes $13000 In Damage
Lompoc officials probe two fires on Sunday including a west side home blaze at 220 North Street with $13000 damage. A curling iron left on a bed started the fire in John Schuchard’s house. flames damaged the room, house, and contents, a cat was revived from the debris. A second fire under a carport at 528 North L Street caused $500 damage, extinguished with help from resident John B. Cruz.
